In
1998, Travolta directed and produced MEL an adventure movie starring
Earnest Borgnine, Julie Haggerty and Jack Scalia. Joey than took
a break from directing to co-star in the Warner Brothers sitcom "MOVIE
STARS" for two seasons.
Joey directed PARTNERS a comedy starring Casper Van Dien for First Look Pictures
in 1999. He directed the critically acclaimed ENEMIES OF LAUGHTER in 2000,
a comedy starring David Paymer, Peter Falk and Judge Reinhold. This film received
nominations at the Boston and Fort Lauderdale Film Festivals and opened the
2002 New York Independent Films Festival. 2001 he directed and produced THE
HOUSE NEXT DOOR that starred James Russo, Sean Young, and Theresa Russell.
Joey directed Lee Majors, Alison Eastwood in WAITING TO LIVE along with Margaret
Avery in 2002. Currently in theatrically release the family comedy ARIZONA
SUMMER which he directed in 2003.
Today, when Joey isn't directing
a movie, he's in front of the camera acting or you can find him at his Woodland
Hills School where he spends all his spare time helping others. Recently he
was responsible for backing and helping Taylor Cross (age 15) become a film
maker on what it's like to autistic like him (see Daily News 4/3/04). |
