Keith has been signed to star in "Complicated" as Rev. Barry, under the direction on Stephen Wallis. This is a very very funny film.... Shooting in this fall. He just wrapped WAKING which will be released next year.
January 1, 2010 marked the debut Keith Coogan when established uploading monologues on YouTube because he was inspired by the book and film “Julie & Julia.” The monologues are vast in telling how accomplished an actor he is. Keith has already carved out a career for himself portraying flakes, energetic wannabes, and confidantes of the leading man, and now these monologues demonstrate how versatile he really is.
Just finished shooting CATS DANCING ON JUPITER which he portrays Fred (a surprise role for Keith) under the direction of Jordan Alan (this role was written for Keith), shooting will begin Sept 11th in Los Angeles. He just completed shooting DELIA starring opposite Jen Nikolaisen under the direction of John Gorman. Keith was signed to star in the motion picture A DETOUR IN LIFE by producer Tina Brown under the direction of Rob Walker to be shot on location in Folsom, CA. Keith is replacing his late friend Corey Haim (who died a March 10th,2010) the film is being dedicated to his memory. He and Corey were friends and they also worked together. Keith, is the grandson of the late child star-actor Jackie Coogan, made his first appearance on TV at age one-and-a-half when he walked on stage and hugged his grandfather on "This Is Your Life". Like his grandfather, he began as a child performer, billed under his birth name of Keith Mitchell. By age seven, he had a recurring role on the ABC family series "Eight Is Enough" as a playmate for Adam Rich's Nicholas. The following year, Coogan got his first real chance to shine in "A Question of Love" (NBC), in which he was the son of a lesbian (Gena Rowlands) and the object of a custody battle between his parents. He then landed the role of the youngest of a group of orphans who became "The MacKenzies of Paradise Cove" on that short-lived ABC series before joining the cast of CBS' "The Waltons" (CBS) for its last season in. After a recurring role as Susan Sullivan's son on the ABC sitcom "It's a Living", he again played an orphan in the CBS TV-movie "Tales of the Apple Dumpling Gang" and for four episodes of its short-lived spin-off "Gun Shy".
After the 1984 death of his grandfather, Keith Mitchell (under this name he was the voice of Young Tod for Disney's "Fox and the Hounds") changed his surname to Coogan. Three years later, he made his feature acting debut as the youth with a crush on Elisabeth Shue in the amiable comedy "Adventures in Babysitting". That same year, he was a geeky teen cousin to fugitive Jon Cryer in "Hiding Out". Coogan went on to play Ted Danson's son, capable of telling chilling horror stories to children, in "Cousins" and had an African adventure in "Cheetah." He received more notice for playing the bright second lead to Sean Astin in "Toy Soldiers" and as the flaky brother of Christina Applegate in "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead." Coogan was the dumbest guy on earth who ends up in a skiing competition in "Downhill Willie." No stranger to the stage his credits include John Olive's "The Voice of the Prairie", James McClure's "Pvt. Wars", and an unfinished Louisville work by Marsha Norman, "The Holdup". All were performed at Timothy and Buck Busfield's "B" St. Theater in Sacramento, California. He starred in the video releases "Python" and "Soulkeeper." He guest-starred on "Joan of Arcadia" and "Married to the Kellys" to name a few. Recently he portrayed the Telepathist in the series “Crafty.” The Keith Coogan Experience was shot in Dallas Texas.
Keith is a proud proponent of his grandfather’s legacy "Coogan Law" and "Coogan Accounts" that have been put in place to protect minors working in the industry today in California or anywhere in the United States. |
